About Fans in the Standz
Why I built it
I built this app after realizing that sending SportsEngine calendar links to grandparents was quite confusing for them. The majority of events weren't even the games!
As we moved between seasons, sports, and associations, my wife and I ended up with three different apps on our phones, each with its own way to export the calendar. Grandma was getting a bit overwhelmed with all the different apps and links, and I wanted to make it easy for her to find just the games.
At the same time, we had built up a community of friends from past and present teams, as well as neighbors we kept running into at the rink, field, or court. It would have been nice to know that a good friend from last season was actually sitting one rink over, watching their kid's game!
Who it's for
The app is for anyone who wants to combine multiple online calendars into a single one. It's also for people who want to share what games their kids are playing next weekend. Grandma gets every game in one place, and the neighbor can come watch if they're nearby!
You share one link, then keep updating what's in it as your kids move between teams and sports. Never send a calendar link to Grandpa again!
Pass it on
If you find this little app useful, share it with a friend! I hope it can make your life a tiny bit easier, like it has for us.
